Primary market. Wichita's aviation supply chain, construction, professional services, and agricultural operations. Business exit planning and succession are major needs across all sectors.
StewardRight works with business owners throughout Wichita and the Wichita metro to bring financial planning discipline to their business — succession planning, exit strategy, key-person protection, business valuation guidance, and tax coordination. Many of our Wichita clients are based in established neighborhoods and business corridors like Old Town, the Douglas Design District, and Riverside, as well as throughout the metro's growing commercial areas. We also serve business owners in College Hill, Delano, and Linwood who are managing both their operations and their personal wealth as their families grow.
We're independent, fee-based, and fiduciary. Our advice isn't connected to product sales or business referral fees. It's built around what's actually right for your company and your personal financial situation.
What We Do for Wichita Business Owners
Succession Planning: Who takes over when you're done? At what price? On what terms? We help build the plan before the decision becomes urgent.
Business Valuation Guidance: Do you know what your business is worth today? We help owners develop a realistic, defensible picture of business value — and understand what drives it.
Buy-Sell Agreements: If you have a partner, your buy-sell agreement needs to be current. Most aren't. We review them and flag the gaps.
Key-Person Insurance: What happens if you or a critical employee can't work? We help businesses quantify that risk and structure appropriate coverage.
Tax Strategy: Business owners have more tax levers than employees. We coordinate with your CPA to make sure you're pulling all of them.
Personal Wealth Building: Your business is an asset. But you need wealth outside it too. We build the personal financial plan alongside the business plan.
FAQ
When should I start succession planning?
5–10 years before you plan to exit — at minimum. Starting earlier gives you options. Waiting limits them.
Do you work with business owners who are still growing?
Yes. You don't have to be near exit to benefit from business financial planning. Growth-phase owners benefit from tax strategy, compensation planning, and making sure personal wealth is building alongside the business.
What happens in our first meeting?
We listen. We ask about your business model, your timeline, your concerns about succession or exit, and your personal financial goals. No pitch. We'll tell you whether we're a good fit and, if we are, what comes next.
How are you paid?
We charge a flat fee or hourly rate — never commissions, never product sales. You know the cost upfront. We don't benefit if you buy or don't buy anything.
Do I need a certain level of revenue or complexity to work with you?
No. Business owners often think they're "too small" for financial planning. If your business matters to your family's future, planning matters. We work with businesses of all sizes.
What's the difference between a business valuation you provide and a formal appraisal?
Our valuation guidance helps you understand what your business is worth in principle and what drives that value. A formal appraisal is a detailed, defensible document used for tax or legal purposes. We can recommend when you need the second one.
What if I'm unsure whether my business is ready for succession planning?
That uncertainty is exactly what we address in a first conversation. Many owners think they're either "too early" or "too late" — rarely true. We help clarify where you actually stand and what timeline makes sense for your situation.
How do you coordinate with my CPA or attorney?
We work directly with your existing advisors. We'll reach out to your CPA on tax strategy questions and coordinate with your attorney on buy-sell agreements and legal structure. You're in the middle; we communicate openly with your whole team.
What if I want to exit soon — like in the next 2–3 years?
We can still help, but the scope changes. We focus on positioning your business for a faster sale, preparing financials for due diligence, and managing the transition to your personal financial plan once the sale closes. The sooner you engage, the better the outcome.
